AdHoc distribution of iPhone Apps

Finding your UDID

What is the UDID?

Each iPhone or iPod Touch has a Unique Device Identifier (UDID), which is a sequence of 40 letters and numbers that is specific to your device. It’s similar to a serial number but much harder to guess. It will look something like this:326d0c2c04d137be2e3230235f5664094b831186.

How do I get my UDID?

  1. Launch iTunes and connect your iPhone.
  2. In the right pane, locate the information about your iPhone, including its name, capacity, software version, serial number, and phone number.

  5. Paste the Identifier into an email to us (You should be able to paste into your mail program or web browser by selecting Edit → Paste).

Installing an AdHoc Version

You will have received two files from us:

  • Application package (either an ipa file or a zip file)
  • mobileprovision file

To install the application on your device, follow these steps:

  1. Drag and Drop both, the application package and the mobileprovision file, into iTunes.
On Windows, please unzip the package (in case of a zip file) prior to this step and drag the extracted folder into iTunes.
  2. Connect your iPhone and sync it with iTunes.
  3. The application will be installed on the phone.
