AdHoc distribution of iPhone Apps
Finding your UDID
What is the UDID?
Each iPhone or iPod Touch has a Unique Device Identifier (UDID), which is a sequence of 40 letters and numbers that is specific to your device. It’s similar to a serial number but much harder to guess. It will look something like this:
326d0c2c04d137be2e3230235f5664094b831186.
How do I get my UDID?
- Launch iTunes and connect your iPhone.
- In the right pane, locate the information about your iPhone, including its name, capacity, software version, serial number, and phone number.

- Reveal the Identifier by clicking on Serial Number:

- Copy the Identifier to your clipboard by choosing Edit → Copy.

- Paste the Identifier into an email to us (You should be able to paste into your mail program or web browser by selecting Edit → Paste).
Installing an AdHoc Version
You will have received two files from us:
- Application package (either an ipa file or a zip file)
- mobileprovision file
To install the application on your device, follow these steps:
- Drag and Drop both, the application package and the mobileprovision file, into iTunes.
On Windows, please unzip the package (in case of a zip file) prior to this step and drag the extracted folder into iTunes.
- Connect your iPhone and sync it with iTunes.
- The application will be installed on the phone.
