Unifeye uses the BsContact renderer of
Bitmanagement. The renderer has an OpenGL
and a DirectX mode. There are some differences between the DirectX and OpenGL mode:
- Hardware shaders using .fx Files are only available in DirectX mode
- the StereoMovieTexture node is also only avaialbe in DirectX mode
- the materials might look slightly different
You can download the BsContact Viewer
here to test your VRML
files before you load them into Unifeye. You can also use the InternetExplorer to preview VRML files without downloading the
BsContact viewer.
Press ESC to reset the camera.
Press Shift + E to switch navigation mode to examine.

VRML file opened with BsContact Viewer.
Renderer settings
You can access many options of the renderer by clicking in the viewport and pressing F9.
With the available tabs you can:
- Switch the renderer mode (OpenGL/DirectX)
- Adjust quality settings (Antialiasing and texture filtering for DirectX)
- Enable VRML warnings

Quality settings for DirectX mode.

Switch on Verbose VRML warnings in the General tab for detailed error messages.

This is especially helpful if the VRML file has been manipulated with a text editor.
You can find additional information on the renderer and special extension nodes
here.
